Are Cheeseburgers The Best Burgers?

We asked you on Instagram whether cheese is essential in your burger. Unsurprisingly, 90% of you said yes!

Whilst you’re probably familiar with our Honest burger, the classic with cheddar and red onion relish or our Tribute burger honouring American cheese, we also have many local burgers showcasing some amazing cheese.

So what are the cheesiest burgers?

We’ll start with our biggest goo-factor cheeses. Raclette is not just for the ski slopes – you can find it on the menu in our Borough restaurant. We source Ogleshield Raclette from Borough Market across the road from Kappacasein, which is the West Country’s take on Swiss raclette. It’s just as flavourful and melty!

Next on the goo-ometer is a deep-fried truffle fondue which features in our Portobello local burger, alongside porcini truffle mayo and a drizzle of honey. It’s been lovingly created by head chef Tony, who took inspiration from his hometown Piedmont in Northern Italy.

Our Camden, Greenwich, and St Katharine Docks restaurants all use taleggio cheese in their local burgers. It’s a mild and melty Italian cheese with a strong aroma and fruity tang. But if you prefer to stick to what you know, our local burgers in Holborn, Meard St., and Old Street all feature mozzarella.

Heard of Neal’s Yard Dairy? It’s London’s famous cheesemonger. our Leicester Square and South Bank restaurants collaborate with them using Appleby’s Cheshire cheese. It’s a yellow-orange British cheese with a juicy acidity and succulent crumbly texture, yet melts so beautifully. A perfect pairing with our British beef burgers. It’s also England’s first named cheese, with the recipe dating back to 1952.

To conclude the cheese round up, these extra local burgers are cheese adventures worth trying:

Baker Street features Emmental Francaise Grand Cru cheese, perfectly paired with caramelised onions and pancetta.

– The Ealing local bacon cheeseburger uses Dambuster cheddar and Dorset Red – sharp, creamy and smoky.

Reading and Windsor restaurants use our Head of Food’s favourite cheese – the Waterloo cheese, which is a soft and buttery Guernsey cow’s milk, camembert-like cheese.

Finally, we’ve got a very exciting new special launching on 15 October which is a serious nod to British Cheddar – a triple cheese melt-fest that will have you dreaming of your next visit. The ultimate cheeseburger! Only available until 18 November.

Why not book a table at one of our locations, or order online?

We Swiss you the best and hope you’re enjoying a cheeseburger on this fine day!
