Honest beef, steak chilli, Monterey Jack, Bull’s-Eye BBQ Sauce, crispy onions, sour cream, lettuce and pickles with homemade rosemary salted chips
It’s been 11 years now and we like to think we’ve gotten pretty good at burgers and chips. We’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest…
Tom first decided to make rosemary salted chips at 2am for his uni mates, after a long night working in a pub in Brighton. He mixed salt, lemon zest and rosemary and loved the taste – and the crunch. So when we opened Honest, they were the only option.
We met in Brighton at university. We loved restaurants. We talked about them, worked in them, ate in them, and thought ‘we can do better than them’. So we pooled our savings and bought a marquee, a fryer and a grill. That's where it all began for Honest Burgers.
The guys at Bulls-Eye found out we loved American barbecue and sent us a case of their BBQ sauce. Inspired by the big flavours of Texas we got to work on a recipe for a chilli con carne (made with the same chuck steak that goes into our Honest butcher’s patties).
Honest beef, Cobble Lane Cured nduja, Taleggio cheese, crispy shallots, Wilderbee Hot Honey and dressed watercress
