Burgers cooked medium (pink) carry a higher risk of food poisoning. Unlike a steak, a burger needs to be cooked through to reduce that risk. The Food Standards Agency recommends that children, pregnant women and anyone with a weaker immune system have their burgers well done.

We also change our menu regularly and have burgers that are unique to each restaurant, meaning the allergens differ depending on where you are eating with us. The first Honest was us cooking at a friend’s party in a tent in a field in Brighton. We weren’t trained chefs, we just loved cooking. On Brixton’s opening day, Tom flipped burgers and Phil waited tables. Six years on, we’re still here, still cooking, still learning.
We met in Brighton at university. We loved restaurants. We talked about them, worked in them, ate in them, and thought ‘we can do better than them’. So we pooled our savings and bought a marquee, a fryer and a grill. That's where it all began for Honest Burgers.
